Strava tracks every run, every ride, every hike. But those activities live buried in an app — scrolled past, forgotten. Your best routes deserve to be on your wall.
MapMyTrail connects directly to Strava. Import any activity and turn it into a custom map poster in under two minutes.
How to import a Strava activity to MapMyTrail
- Go to mapmytrail.com/create
- Click "Connect Strava" in the location panel
- Authorise MapMyTrail to access your activities (read-only — we never modify or delete anything)
- Browse your recent activities and select the one you want to poster-ise
- Your exact GPS route is drawn on the map automatically, including every turn and elevation change
What activities work best as map posters?
- Race routes — any distance from 5K to ultramarathon
- Cycling tours — one-day sportives, multi-day tours, iconic climbs
- Hiking trails — summit routes, national park hikes, coastal paths
- Milestone runs — your first 10K, first half marathon, first 100-miler
- Training routes — the loop you ran a thousand times. You know every turn.
Choosing the right map style for your activity
The map style you choose changes the feel of the poster completely:
- Sky Blue — clean, modern, works for any activity
- Vintage Green — great for trail runs, hikes, and countryside routes
- Midnight Green — dramatic, perfect for IRONMAN and endurance events
- Rusty — warm tones, beautiful for desert and mountain routes
- Royal Purple — bold, statement piece, great for marathons
Privacy: what MapMyTrail does with your Strava data
MapMyTrail uses read-only OAuth access to import a single activity's GPS coordinates into your browser. We never store your Strava token or activity data on our servers. When you close the tab, nothing is retained.
